[Web] Kopywrighter

Just copy, please

I'm not a web designer; my specialty is the copy, (content), meta tag keyword research and, to a useful extent, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) writing. If you need design help, I have a number of designers I work with and trust. This particular site was designed by Now: design in the UK and taken with permission from one of the internet's foremost open source web design sites, OSWD.org. oswd.org keeps alive the original intent of the worldwide web, to share information and projects freely.

The WebKopywrighter is Bill Kaye, Production Director for WJBR-FM in Wilmington from 1985-2005. As Production Director, Bill was the primary copywriter, creating over 8000 individual radio spots for virtually every type of business, service or product. He was often required to write copy for businesses or products he knew little about, but Bill’s special talent was in digesting complicated and detailed notes, and writing radio spots that informed the listener as well as prompting that all-important “call to action.”

Bill’s strengths are creativity, dependability and promptness. Radio’s deadlines are tight: copy being written today is often produced for the next day’s air schedule. Bill’s dedication to detail and passion for accuracy ensured that there were virtually no “make-goods” required for inaccurate or dated copy.

Recently, Bill has been involved in consultative sales, particularly business to business sales, and thus brings a unique perspective and understanding of the demands of businesses and organizations. As a consultative sales account manager, Bill became adept at interviewing prospective customers to evaluate their specific needs, in order to devise and present effective solutions which benefited the customer. He also brings experience to the creation of all manner of marketing materials.

A desire to make a difference in his community drove Bill’s 10 years service with Fox Point Babe Ruth League, as President and later as Registrar, long after his own children had left the league. Bill oversaw all facets of the league’s writing, including the creation of brochures, newsletters, handbooks, fundraising and recruitment letters, advertising and all peripheral materials.

Bill is also the author of two published novels: The Killing of Bill Doolin (Leisure Books, 1980); Wrong Target (Leisure, 1981)
